Works well August 12, 2006 Ian Baker (Etna, NH USA) 64 out of 65 found this review helpful
I bought four of these. So far they appear to work well. They do not work with compact flourescent lights well, but are fine with incandescent bulbs.
Wonderfully convenient May 5, 2007 Pennsylvania Reader 49 out of 49 found this review helpful
This is an amazing product. I love it! If they were less expensive, I'd buy five or six. I have one in my basement, where the bulbs are old-fashioned screw-in-to-turn-on types (not pull chains). Yes, I could rewire the basement, but in the meantime, this is the perfect choice. Like many motion-sensing devices, this socket doesn't work with a flourescent bulb; package instructions say to use it only with incandescent bulb. It also can't be used in an enclosed fixture, only a bare-bulb fixture. But for closets, garages, pantries, basements, etc., it's perfect.
Well-made Product - You'll Love It December 13, 2005 L. Fogelson (Illinois, USA) 25 out of 26 found this review helpful
Indispensable for use in garage. The old, dim, garage door opener's light never lasted long enough to bring in the groceries. We added a "Y" adapter and two halogen 40 watt bulbs to this motion sensing switch for a perfect solution for night and day garage lighting needs. The two halogen bulbs have a long and very bright life and the four minute sensor-timer preset is perfect. As a bonus, the kids don't need to be nagged to shut off the garage ceiling light.

Had this light control for over a month, no problems, works fine. I installed it in my basement. Comes on as soon as I walk through the door!
First Alert Motion Sensor Screw in Adaptor March 21, 2007 G. La Rosa (Rutherford, New Jersey) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The First Alert #PIR720R was exactly what I needed for a garage light. The sensor works great and I no longer have to fumble in the dark to find the light switch. It's great for safety and security reasons e.g. when pulling the car into the garage I now have automatic lighting. The product saves money in two ways. It automatically shuts off after a minute and I didn't have to hire an electrician to rewire the simple light fixture for an "outside" sensor. I was concidering an automatic door opener which would have had an automatic light, but that would have cost about $200 without installation! The First Alert just scews into the socket and is ready to perform. It has performed beyond my expectations.
