This is a really fantastic little scale. It's very small, light and durable. You can thrown it in a bag and use it on the go.
The display is large and easy to read. I don't imagine it's the most accurate scientific instrument you can get, but the fact that it shows ounces to three decimal places and grams to one decimal place is very helpful. Most small digital scales that cost five times as much don't show that precision. The controls are very easy to use.
It takes standard AAA batteries, which are much easier to find and cheaper than those annoying coin cells that all have non-standard codes that vary by manufacturer.
The best part is the price. It's an impressive value.
good buy January 26, 2010 david (boston) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
its accurate and price is right. when ever you purchase a scale put a penny in it and you should get 2.5 grams. just a pre-test worth performing.
It's a handy little device April 18, 2009 Jackie Dawn (Tennessee) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
It's very accurate and small enough to carry anywhere. The tray acts as a cover when not in use. It's well designed and easy to use. A+
A perfect little scale, uses standard AAA batteries, works great. October 23, 2009 Keith Huntington (Ramseur, NC) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a wonderful little pocket scale. The picture just doesn't give a true impression of how compact this tiny marvel is -- it truly is a pocket scale. And unlike so many other pocket models, this one uses easy-to-find standard (at least in the US) AAA batteries. I bought two, checked them for calibration, and they were spot-on out of the box. I confirmed the readings with standard 50g, 100g, 200g, and 500g calibration weights, and this little unit passed with flying colors. Frankly, for the price I considered these things throwaway toys... but was very pleasantly surprised to find them not only useful, but actually good enough for serious use. An incredible bargain.
One note that somebody else has already mentioned: it does come with batteries, which is a plus. But the batteries are installed with plastic shrink-wrap covering, I suppose to avoid any potential for shelf-life run-down, or battery leakage. So you'll need to remove the plastic from the batteries before first use.
Little but powerful. Porsche of pocket scales :-) January 9, 2010 Val Cosmos (NY, NY USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Well, I need this little pocket scale to weigh 18K gold watches that I sell and sometimes some jewelery. I had a different type before and it died on me. This one I like even better because it`s smaller but does the same stuff and what`s even more significant it uses its lid as a tray to put bulkier stuff, which works perfectly for my watches. So far so good. For the money you can`t go wrong.
