Customer Reviews:
5 out of 5 stars A great purchase   March 10, 2010

The product arrived within the time frame it was suppose. It was easy to assemble and activate. The quality of the sound is good from time to time there is a little bit static but i am not sure if it's my radio or the car transmitter.

4 out of 5 stars Good, but design flaws make it not great.   May 1, 2009

PROS:
-The adjustable arm works well, it's very convenient since my cigarette lighter is in such a strange place.

-I have very limited problems with frequency-no doubt there are some, but by-in-large, it functions very well.

-The mechanism that secures the iPod does a very good job (I have an iPod Touch). It's safely in there, and I can view the screen and change the song easily

CONS:
-The adjustable arm isn't the best built device in the world. There isn't a way to rotate the dock (without unscrewing the top, which makes it swing all over the place). Also, going around corners sometimes the thing shifts, falling over, running into my gear change etc.

-The wire that connects from the headphone jack to the side of the transmitter isn't designed well. There's a piece of plastic which obstructs the headphone jack (on the iPod Touch) meaning I cannot use the wire (probably not the end of the world)

-They placed a display at the top of the transmitter that reads the channel that you are transmitting at. I cannot see it over my touch. I have to remove the touch to view the screen.

-It's very difficult to change frequency if you realize that you are broadcasting at a frequency with lots of interference. For some reason they created the device to tune at EVERY frequency (i.e. 88.7, 88.8, 88.9 etc.). Unfortunately most cars only tune to odd numbered frequencies (i.e. 88.7, 88.9, 89.1 etc.), meaning it takes twice as long to change the frequency.

Overall, I think that anybody with an iPod should get an FM Transmitter, they are brilliant. I'm not entirely sure that this is the one (I don't have any others to compare to), but this is not a bad choice.

4 out of 5 stars Sturdy Holder For Any Ipod   September 7, 2009

Although this has many functions I only use it for holding my Iphone. I have a separate connection to play music and charge the phone through my navigation. The quality of the FM is the worst and a mess to deal with; however, that is with any FM transmitter product. The direct AUX is a little better but there will be feedback and "scratching" noises when you use it; which is the case for most AUX connections. Overall this is a sturdy holder that has many options to play your Ipod.

4 out of 5 stars Works as designed   August 24, 2010

I didn't give it 5 stars because I haven't tried the remote. Also, I've only used it for a few hours.

It charged my iPhone 3Gs, which was invaluable on a very long car trip on which we were using my iPhone for directions. Since I needed it for that purpose and for receiving phone calls, I was not using it for playing music.

We did, however, use my iPod Touch with the FM transmitter. There were a couple of occasions when we heard some static or buzzing and had to try another station, but for the most part the sound was very clear and we were satisfied with the functionality of the device.

Unlike some of the reviews I'd read before, I found that:
- The cradle expanded enough to accommodate even my iPhone in its bulky Otter case.
- The device stayed on the last programmed station, even after turning the car off and back on.

I liked that the product came with TWO DC adapters - one with a flexible goose neck and one that was just the adapter seated in the device. I chose to use the flexible one so that I could interact with it further away from the cigarette lighter, but the other one would've worked fine in my car.

One issue I had was that with an iPhone or iPod Touch, the top of the iDevice covers the display on the Transmitter, so it's difficult to see which station it's on. As a passenger, this is no problem, really, but if I were driving and trying to use it, it would be difficult and dangerous.

So, the short version is that I TOTALLY recommend this product for the price. It's easily worth 15 dollars. If I were paying $50, I'd be much more picky and critical, but for me, it did what I needed it to do.

It says its for the IPHONE 3G, but then says in the description that its not for and will not charge the IPHONE 3G. Very False advertising on the Headline. BEWARE!!!
